On June 8, the AIA—Inland California Chapter held its annual golf tournament and fundraiser for the ACE Mentor Program at the Sierra Lakes Golf Course in Fontana. The ACE program provides opportunities for high school students to study about careers in architecture, construction and engineering (ACE).
This is one summer event that BOG does not miss. BOG Engineers Ben Pitts, Travis Culp, James Donahue and Sanaa Anini packed up their equipment, put on their sunscreen and headed for the links. This is the fourth year that BOG has participated in the event.

Design Engineer Sanaa Anini made a bold decision to make the tournament her inaugural golf experience. What courage! During the tournament Sanaa commented, “I have always enjoyed trying things for the very first time. By participating in the tournament, I was able to experience that ‘first-time feeling,’ play golf and network with other leading AEC firms while supporting a shared passion of our industry.”
The ACE Mentor Program is the construction industry’s fastest-growing high school program, mentoring over 9,000 students from over 1,000 high schools nationwide. Since 2002, the program has awarded over $15 million in scholarships to deserving students—a real boon to many college-bound individuals.
